Supporting Ukraine

ended 09. March 2022

We've seen on social media that a lot of Newspagers are doing things to help support Ukraine, financially or with other gifts and donations. It's touching to see so if you're doing anything, whatever it is, let us know.

"I have friends based in Ukraine and was incredibly concerned for them as soon as news of the invasion broke and immediately wanted to help. I created a ‘Dove for Peace T-shirt’ within hours. I reached out to my friends asking what cause would best benefit from the £5 generated from each sale. They suggested Ukraine Pride, who are diligently trying to defend and support the LGBTQ+ community in Ukraine. So far I’ve raised £340, a meagre but heartfelt amount, which I hope will support my queer siblings in Ukraine, who are especially vulnerable to the intolerance of Russia under Putin."

"We have been working hard to support Ukrainian animal charities by donating pet carriers and dog coats to the animals that are being displaced as a result of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. When conflict happens our first response is to help the people and families affected but we don't always consider that animals are also affected and also need our help. As an animal rescue site, we want to support and help as many lost and lonely animals as we can."

"Colleague Box will be donating 25% of our March 2022 profits to Save The Children's Ukraine appeal. This isn't an idle sales ploy as most of our sales were already confirmed so this is a genuine donation as the heartbreaking news coverage of the needless conflict led us to want to do something meaningful. A donation of money is, for the time being, the most we are able to do."
"We have all been shocked and saddened here at CKB, watching the events unfolding in Ukraine, and so decided we would collect goods between us all. These will be going to two charities. One is sending food and medical supplies to Ukrainian troops, and the other is a pet charity, helping ensure pets in Ukraine are kept fed and healthy."
We've been providing conflict trauma psychological services with the support of a Polish charity and an Ukrainian interpreter, and we have also donated to our local Ukrianian community fundraiser. It feels like a drop in the ocean, yet if everyone did something it would add up to so much.

"We have a free online midwife service that launched in the UK last month. We have now made this available to pregnant women and new mums in or from Ukraine with automatic translation. Our midwives are happy to provide antenatal and postnatal advice and support for anybody from/in Ukraine. The service includes translation so advice can be provided in Ukrainian, for free. "Our hearts go out to those in Ukraine being separated from their partners, families and their homes. I can't imagine how stressful it is for pregnant women and new mothers in Ukraine right now. We need to do whatever is within our power to help. We have seen images of women giving birth in underground shelters and neonatal babies being treated in bomb shelters. It has made me think about those close to giving birth and those caring for newborns who no longer have access to their belongings, their homes and partners, and those who may be early on in pregnancy and worrying about the unknown."

"So far, TingTang have donated 100 bottles of our Dry Wash Shampoo and we should have another 100 that we will be able to drop off today, thanks to customer donations which we're using to buy bottles at below cost price. It allows people in Ukraine to wash their hair, body, hands, children and pets without water, which will probably prove useful given what's happening in Ukraine. It isn’t a lot but at least I feel I am doing a tiny bit. I’m sending the shampoo via a drop-off point arranged by Nidhima Kohli https://www.instagram.com/nidhimakohli/

"TREmendousTRE is supporting Ukrainians in the UK who are worried about their family and friends back home with complimentary, online TRE sessions this weekend. TRE is a somatic stress management tool that can help to reset the nervous system, build resilience and - literally - shake off tension and stress held in the body. Worry is debilitating, so we're keen to help a wee bit to gain more calm and resilience."

"In the past 24 hours, Letterbox Love has sold out of our Limited Edition Sun Flower bracelets with all profits from the sale of these bracelets going to the British Red Cross for the Ukraine Crisis appeal. I believe we all feel a bit helpless in this situation and our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine. If we all did a small something, this will always add up to a very big something and we are humbled to say as a small business we have raised £200 for the Ukraine Crisis appeal."
"At Little Nutkins, we are donating all profits from our new children's 'All you need is love' organic T-shirt to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis appeal." https://www.littlenutkins.co.uk/collections/new-in/products/all-you-need-is-love-organic-t-shirt
