I'll be focusing on eating more protein foods to keep me fuller for longer, with eggs being a top choice; they're quick and easy but also a first class protein. Mushrooms will also feature more; an incredibly nutritious source of plant based protein and fibre, plus they're versatile and easy to incorporate into any meal. Along with plenty of apples; opting for a more domestic choices that is also less sweet than many exotic fruits.
Nuts - Containing healthy fats, protein and fibre, nuts are the perfect snack. They can help to balance our blood sugar which is a great way to keep your energy levels stable, reduce cravings and avoid that hangry feeling. Berries - berries are the perfect option if you have a sweet tooth. Yes, fruit contains sugar but it also contains fibre, crucial for supporting gut health, and a whole host of vitamins & minerals, including vitamin C, so can't be compared to sugar you'd get from drinking a large cola. Berries are an excellent source of phytonutrients and can provide a range of health benefits. Dark Chocolate - ideally 70% cocoa or higher. Containing less sugar and more minerals than milk chocolate, it's the more nutritious option. Dark chocolate is a good source of magnesium and iron, contains polyphenols, powerful antioxidants, which help to undo free radical damage and last but not least, it tastes fantastic. Gone are the days of depriving ourselves for "health". True health is about eating a varied, balanced and delicious diet that you enjoy and makes you feel good.
