flights of fantasy

Nancy Shafee makes and sells decorative items for the home and fashion accessories, wedding flowers and biodegradable urns for cremation ashes.
Her designs are primarily in handmade felt, but she also works in recycled textiles and sells both under the banners of flights-of-fantasy. Well Urned Rest is the selling name for her urns. Much of her work is made on commission.
She teaches feltmaking and coiled basket making at her home and at clients' venues, often schools or social groups. Wedding flowers can also be made by a bride with or without the help of her close friends - an entertaining and unusual Hen Party.
Nancy also casts hedgerow plants and seashore finds in fine plaster of paris which are sold under the name of charles cottage studio.
Her work is for sale through The Surrey Guild of Craftsmen Gallery in Milford as well as online.
She is a member of The Surrey Guild of Craftsmen (recent chair), International Feltmakers Association, American Fiber Arts, Crafts Council, Surrey Artists, Guildford Art Society, Wey Valley Workshop and Heritage Craft Association. She has been a member of Mensa for more than 40 years and supports the Campaign for Wool.
