Castell Group, a land development company based in Swansea run by 27-year old Dorian Payne, has obtained planning permission for a sustainable development site in Port Talbot, South Wales.

The planning process took 18 months to green light the demolition of an existing building and construction of 18 highly sustainable social homes and 4 commercial units.

The decision was voted 9-1 in favour at Neath Port Talbot planning committee on 11th October 2022.

There is a local registered social landlord already onboard to ensure the homes are occupied by those truly in need.

The building will be EPC-rated A upon completion, ensuring highly energy efficient homes that will keep bills as low as possible.

Dorian Payne, Founder, Castell Group, commented:

We are very pleased to have received planning permission for this much needed development site in Port Talbot. There are over 1200 homes like this required and after 18 months in the planning system, we can finally start to deliver 18 new homes towards that deficit."
